I know a fair amount about computers so i've had a few people ask me to come help them with adware, spyware, malware, viruses etc...

What do you guys use for this kinda stuff.

Here is a perfect example of the typical family computer.

Teen guy: Uses torrents, and p2p. Surfs porn. Downloads "cheats" and "hax" for online games.

Teen girl: Accepts anything from anyone on msn.

That is usually the typical setup. The kids use the computer mostly and this is what they do.

This computer would be swarmed with every kind of crap you could imagine.

The computer is so slow and barely able to even boot up.

What would you do?

What programs would you bring on a thumb drive?

What steps would you take?

Would you reformat?

If you were to reformat, how would you backup there files that they needed?

What about bootup viruses etc.. that don't die in the reformat.

What do you do then?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to be well informed.
