Got thru steps 1, 2, 3 but in the Add Standalone Snap-in list ther is no Group Policy.

Closest in listing is IP Security Policy Management or Local Users and Groups.

Stopped here for furtheradvice....................Ta

ok, one step at a time...

restart your ocmputer into safe mode w/ networking.

this is done by pressing the F8 key as your ocmputer is booting...repeatedly.

once in safe mode, open Internet Explorer and enter the following... http://housecall,trendmicro,com

*replace the ,'s with .'s

Hi ETech,

Restarted PC in safe Mode with networking.
Got Microsoft front page where right hand side of screen designates box for “Owner” an done for “Administrator”
Selected “Administrator”
Brought up safe mode desk top
Opened Internet Explorer
Entered Trend Micro HouseCall - Free Online Virus and Spyware Scan

Then unsure what you meant be replacing the ,’s with .’s

So ran Housecall’s Scan and removed what appeared as minor cookie, but also received message “MS05-004. An error occurred while trying to retrieve more information about this vulnerability. There is currently no more information available’

In summary, the SuperAntiSopyware program you suggested removed both the pop up message about potential spyware operation and the task bar balloon saying the PC is infected.

However, anytime I go to things like Start/Mycomputer/Properties, I still get the message “this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact you r system administrator.”
As well, where previously I could access “Control Panel” from the START button, the control panel is no longer there.

In case it helps, am re-posting the HiJack log, (in 2 sections to fit the response panel).

Thanks for more help you can provide
