Something's goin on here..

Apparently my laptop never shut down last night. I got up this morning and it was running.

I can't get into my pictures files "Access is denied", my Avast virus scan goes thru the memory test, but won't scan.... User account controls is not coming up.

What would be effective at search and destroy of what the heck is going on here?

Oh, wait.. I can get into my pictures now. What the heck happened? All seems well now.

it's doin it again.. Just fired up the laptop.. programs aren't accessible.

I cleaned it already... Didn't think to post the log.. I'll run another search when I get home later and post that log.. -If it helps..

There's a lot of random stuff acting weird on this laptop..

How do I reset to safe mode with Vista? I want to do a scan in Safe.. It's found stuff like that before.
