Default Removing Mcafee

I'm trying to install Kaspersky on a machine. During the install it tells me that Mcafee VirusScan Home Edition needs to be removed. So, first i looked under Add/Remove programs and its not there. Next, i did a google search and found the Mcafee Uninstaller Tool. Ran the tool, went to install Kaspersky again and no go. So, i looked though the log that the uninstaller left me for any unremoved files, reg entries, etc... and it still says that Mcafee is in there. any help would be much appreciated!!!
