Alright now how to get rid of this entry?

O23 - Service: Command Service (cmdService) - CMD Technology, Inc. - (no file)

Now the person has gone thru the guide. They dont get anymore pop ups or anything. But this entry will not go away from the HiJack This log.

Even from Safe Mode with scouring the PC for all files and folders tied to this entry. Turned up blank.

I know that the service is disabled now. That it isnt really harmful. but how can we get it removed from the HiJack Logs? It just wont go away!

Any Ideas Osiris?

Are these entries present in the registry?

HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet004\Services\cmdService
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\cmdService


If so make a backup and delete them in safemode. Once everything boots up fine try to remove the entry again. Then you can delete the backup if you like

Thanks for the tip Osiris. Will report back after they get back to me if this removed it or not.

Just got word that these entries were in the Registry and after the removal of them the entry is gone. Thanks Osiris.
