Program Won't Delete

Hello all.

I downloaded probably a month ago a demo for Mall of America Tycoon or something named similar to it. It came in one of those delivery packages that you click and it downloads through that. The shortcut to this delivery package is on my desktop.

The icon is blue with three arrows ( ^ ) except pointing downwards. When I try to delete this by moving it to the recycling bin or shift+delete, it says

"Cannot delete MallofAmericaTycoon-dm: It is being used by another person or program.

Close any programs that might be using the file and try again."

However, this program is uninstalled and there shouldn't be anything at all using this program.

Any idea on how to get rid of this annoying thing?

Try looking in the Documents & Settings folder and look for any leftover files or folders. You might have to turn on "view hidden files" in the folder options menu.

Delete it in the registry (make sure you make a backup first)

delete in safe mode also.
Im not gonna tell u how to get into registry, you don't seem to know what your doing and i don't want you to screw anything up der.

Actually, I know very well how to get into the registry. I asked you how to find a specific string or key in it that would be causing this. I used the Find feature in it to search for the words America and Tycoon and nothing, but mall just returned way too many results, and none of them appeared to be anything.

I also used a registry cleaner and took care of some 800 objects, but none were it.

I already attempted safe mode delete, and I got the same message.

Use a Delete Utility like the one from the link below. I have never needed to use this so I am not to sure if it is any good but I hope it works for you.

Thanks for the reply Oscillator. I am going to give that a shot after my last class today. I was searching for something like that on the web and couldn't locate anything that would do what I needed.

play counterstrike source or doom3 or something lol!
