Default Problem getting rid of trojans

I use AVG (is there anything better for free??) and a couple Trojens show up. But they don't get deleted, it says this:
"Inffected, Embedded object"

I tried it in safe mode and it did the same thing.... any ideas?

IMO, AVG is one of the best anti-virus programs around (especially since it's free!).

Please read and follow our common instructions thread, and the infected thread. You can post a HijackThis log in the HTJ log analyze forum. We'll get to that log as soon as possible.

The best way to remove a virus is to do a reinstall.

A bit extreme I would say, seeing that any experienced tech could remove a virus manually in minutes.

*Giggles*

I used AVG on my grandmother's computer when she had the three viruses, and 109 spyware. AVG cleaned all three viruses, when trend micro could only get two. But Norton always has that three month trial you could use.
