Default Page cannot be displayed

For some reason my browser (IE) always displays - Page cannot be displayed when tying to log into Hotmail, do a search on Ebay, or submit any form details.

I completely wiped the PC (System restore disk) and the problem is still there.

It wasn't always like this, it just happened one day. (I used to run Norton Internet Security before I Wiped it - and it was always up to date)

Run Spybot and Ad-Aware and no results.

Any Ideas?

Have you tried HijackThis!? It doesn't necessarily sound like a hijacker, but there's lots out there now to cause problems.

After wiping the computer, trying various different solutions, hundreds of checks....

It turns out it was the ISP that I was using.....

was using virgin, changed to tiscali and everything was fine.

I think whatever domain name services that the virgin server was using was working.
