MP3 Spam Scam Hits In-boxes

The recent spike in spam can be attributed to a new trend called MP3 spam or spaMP3. The next time you check your e-mail and a stranger calling himself Ch3ApV1AgraMan sent you a free MP3…don’t click on it.

Elvis and the Beatles probably never could have imagined they would one day be used to commit stock fraud. But that is exactly what is happening, as spammers have taken to using MP3 attachments in emails named after recording artists as part of a pump-and-dump stock scam.
