I agree with Makaveli that upgrading is probably your best option. If you do not want to spend the money to upgrade to xp you could use linux on your current pc. Xubuntu is a very good os for people new to linux and runs smoothly on older pc's. I am running Xubuntu 7.10 on a pc with specs similar to yours without a problem. Xubuntu is free and is very secure.

That is a good suggestion as well Puddle Jumper. Linux is a more secure alternative than 98.

Using that PC are you surfing the web using IE 5.0 as your system info suggests?

Machevilli is correct here when he says using windows 98 is like having a bullseye on you by malware.

Yeah IE5 is really bad. IE6 was worse. If he doesnt want to upgrade. Ubuntu!!

I'm using Avast for quite some time now and it's the best free antivirus software around, try it out.. cheers!
