a few days ago my teenage son used my comp and all the sudden bam im getting popups and slowdown issues and a host of other problems glitchy
i get a vmunde something on my free scan but it wont delete it

hmm, you've got some things in your log that are pretty nasty.

first, try going to - Antivirus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, firewall. Protect yourself with Panda and run through the ActiveScan feature.

then post another fresh log.

ok used panda and also found this program that seemed to help alot and find stuff that most others didnt(super antispyware free edition) anyways heres the new hijack log after panda and above mentioned software.

super anti-spyware, thats one program i haven't tested. so i can't say how effective it is. but keep in mind, you get what you pay for.

remove the following,

This one here is questionable.. O23 - Service: PnkBstrB - Unknown owner - C:\WINNT\system32\PnkBstrB.exe

according to the prevx1 database its marked as unknown. which im going to assume its a piece of malware, for the fact that your running windows 2000. maybe someone else of this forum would know better. but i do know that this service will not be removed by Hijackthis so your going to need something with a bit more bite. try using this - Prevx - Leaders in Malware Research
