| Microsoft antispyware is right now a Beta version. that means it's still in the "test" phase.
microsoft will never notify you about this product or any other individual product via auto update. Auto update will notify you of hotfixes patches and driver updates.
when microsoft's antispyware is no longer in the Beta version and is available for sale it will be a seperate product from windows such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio.
if you would like to know what new products are available, in Beta version or being developed for future release you will have to visit the Microsoft web site.

| Microsoft has not said whether the program will remain free or be sold after the beta testing. We'll hope it remains free (but there could be a pro version).
If you go to the site for the download, there are several lists that you can join to get emails about new software, or upgrades, or whatever. Be sure to check those out if you're interested.

| honestly Jilan, we can not recomend that you "share" your windows XP OS. from a legal standpoint he would require his own licensed copy of windows XP and need to purchase that himself. ;( it's not free... now from a hypothetical standpoint if you were to "share" your xp disk with your friend, yes it would potentially put you in danger for Pirating software. M$ could lock up your system via an update or may not allow you to activate the product... in theory they would not be looking to press charges for one copy loaded on 2 machines, but why take the risk... in the end it's up to you, but here at TF we have a strict policy... we don't condone Pirated software, support it, share tips on how to, or like to talk about it as we would not like to draw that sort of attention to the site. i'm sure you can understand. wish you the best of luck.

| if you install XP on 2 different machines, it will not let you activate.
I've had that happen to me when I changed some of my hardware, and when I reinstalled, MS's server thought my computer wasn't the same computer. I had to ring up MS and tell them what my situation was after that, and I got it sorted
