Default General virus question

Ok i dont have a virus but i just wondered would having a virus always make your CPU usage %(on tsk manager) go up from the norm? or is it possible to have an awful virus and the pc still seems to run effectively with low CPU usage?

yes it can, it can tax your cpu running it from normal to 100% causing a reboot
