| Recently I obtained an icon on my desktop named "freeprotb.exe". I believe it is the cause for generating a series of internet pages that pop-up every few minutes. The pages contain advertisments to remove "freeprodtb.exe" and they come with a price. Sounds like a hoax. I cant simply delete or remove this virus, I ran Mcafee and Ad-ware programs which didnt help either. "freeprodtb.exe" is not imbedded in my start-up applications and is not found in the task manager processes. I just want it off, its effecting my job. If anyone knows of free software to remove "freeprodtb.exe" off my desktop, or if you would know how to remove it in any other fashion I would appreciate, thanks. ![]() |
