Default cannot access the web with mozilla

hi, i just downloaded mozilla for windows, and it runs fine, but whenever i enter a url, i receive an error message indicating "the connection was refused when attempting to contact www.xxxx.com. i have not been able to find anything on this in another forum....so help requested plz!

You have a case of a redirect that got into your system. Try adaware 6, spybot S&D, CW Shredder, and if those don't take care of you, hijackthis. These four utilities will clean the references that are redirecting you to that site.

no, www.xxxx.com means like www.anything.com......as in i cant access any websites at all!
