just flash the bios go to the manufacturers site and you should be able to download a bios flash.

i don't know what the manufacture for my computer is... and i can't download anything or start any program because the computer freeze with the message "Verifying DMI pool data.........." everytime i start it up now...

* Boot from a bootable floppy diskette. Ensure that this diskette was made on the same Microsoft Windows operating system that is installed on your computer.
* Once at the A:\> prompt type "sys c:" and press enter. This should report the message "File system transferred". Once transferred remove the diskette and reboot the computer.

If the computer continues to not boot attempt to re-create the master boot record by booting from the bootable floppy diskette again. Once at the A:\> prompt type "fdisk /mbr" and press enter. This should return you to the prompt without giving you any message. Once at the prompt remove the diskette and reboot the computer.

^ok i'll try that... but where can i get the "bootable floppy diskette" because i don't have any boot disk for this computer. Can i download it?

i try to boot the computer from a window 2000 boot disk that i downloaded off the internet and it doesn't go to the A: promt but give the message "Windows 2000 could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <windows 2000 root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe.
Please reinstall a copy of the above file."

ok i was able to boot the computer using the 4 setup boot floppy disk and i was able to enter the recovery console but I can't seem to repair anything. the only option that i have left is to reinstall windows 2000... should i do that? i don't have the cd so i have to download it. thx.
