So it si not fact. This is just your opinion.

Your benchmarks i can dispute as well as you have not shown any kinds of test results or what kind of system you put it on or anything at all. I haev run tests as well and AVG out performed Avast. NOD32 was the best and Kaspersky was 2nd best.

Now please start to play nice. This is all opinions here. there are no hard core facts when it comes to the best AV as every site out there says something different. If you can not agree to this then please do not post in this section. Trying to scream and enforce your opinion as fact will not work.

Thank you.

Who is screaming? Bold letters is not screaming, all caps is.

I never said that "Avast is better than NOD32 or Kaspersky or any other AV."

I simply said that NOD detects the eicar files the fastest. All you have to do is test it as I have with the links I provided.

I agree 100% that AVG outperforms Avast and that NOD owns them both.

It is a fact that Nod is better on resources than those I mentioned. This is easily verified and most all will agree that NOD has a small fp and is resource light (in comparsion)

It is a fact that NOD detects the eicar files faster than AVG. that is all I said.

For all I know the nastiest virus in the world at this time is detected the fasted by CA (lol).

It is my Opinion that NOD 32 is the best, at least for my needs of speed and detection. I think it is a fact that NOD is more resource friendly than 90% of other AV's and I think it is a fact that NOD detects test files such as eicar faster than most (especially AVG)

Isn't the topic already been answered? Or is it just an open discussion.

Well, here are a few thoughts of a few virus scanners I've been trying for the last few weeks.

Not a fan of Kaprensky, seemed sluggish, and while using the trial version, while it was updating, it seems to stop actively protecting my system.. Or at least, that is what Windows thoughts. Cant say for sure if the paid version is like that. Or was some bug ..

AVG I liked, but, I flipped over because it gave me a few false reports. But, I did use it for sometime and seemed to be just fine. And, I'll probably flip back to it soon.

Currently using/trying Avira Antivir, I like it, but, not overly fond of the idea that it keeps 'popping' up with me to buy the suite. Not obtrusive mind you, just seems on update/boots. So far though, I like it..

Bit Defender - Used that one for awhile, I liked it..but, again, false reports. But, I did like the fact that it had a 'gaming' mode that would cause the virus scanner to become 'less' active in favor of performance.

Nortons, no way hose.. Nice and pretty looking, but, to much garbage after you try and uninstall it. Plus, it's a pain to uninstall..long process.. And, it annoys me because novices on PC would have a difficult time uninstalling it..
