I use mcafee.

I dont like norton because it is a resource hog; although all anti virus are resource hogs but i think mcafee doesnt hog as much.

mcafee all the way for me.

Nortons is a resorse hog. And I have seen NAV get directly attacked by virus. I had one customer where the virus UNINSTALLED NAV.

Vet is really good on compressed files, but they are about 24 behind every one else on new definitions.

These are my reccomendations, and I use all three of them.

Norton 2004, yes, it hogs all the RAM, but It will stop some things that most others cannot. It is a good Idea to run it in safe mode once a week.

Spybot S/D, Spybot will catch almost all adware and spyware, The first time I ran it, it successfully removed over 50 harmful files. It is also good for scanning the registry for adware related registry keys. It is completely free and can immunize your computer against over 500 known threats. I usually end up removing about 20 threats a week with it, and I run it daily because of the short amount of time it takes.

Trojan Gaurder, This has only one real use, eliminating trojans. It is suprising how many get past spybot and norton.

I have had only one reccuring problem in the last six months thanks to these programs. The problem in question is yet unexplained.

Nav 2004. It is a resource hog, but I haven't found anything better.
