Hi guys,

Someone recommended Avast to me and I have been using it for only a few weeks.

Now there is Avast alert everytime I boot up my computer saying my trial period for my Avast Home Edition is expired soon.

What should I do with it? Are there any other FREE version of anti-v that doesn't require any renewal procedures?

Hello,

Avast Home Edition is free, but you need to register it with an email address. Avast will then send you a free license key to your email address which you use to register the software. License keys expire after one year, at which time you'll have to re-register.

Free AVG, once its installed, you never have to re-new or re-install it again, and theres never any queries about if you'd like to upgrade or not. Just install it and off you go!


Ive never had any issues with it, it has an update practically everday (which you can turn off if you really want), you can decide if you want it to scan regularly or not, and has a context-menu options when using windoze explorer etc, and its also one of the least system-hogging AV's available!
