Default Quicktime plugin 7.1.6: This program has performed an illegal operation

Idk why but I keep getting this message. THen, within a few minutes or pages, it shuts my Firefox down. My Quicktime player and Itunes will no longer work; Error messages just pop up and ask me to send them in to Microsoft.

Pls don't ask me to repair or reinstall as I've down both many times. I've shut down Zonealarm and done it also. I've completely uninstalled both programs and reinstalled them. I've also reinstalled Firefox. Nothing has worked.

Now, I do have XP HE Sp 1. That might be the problem as I just saw on apple that it said the requirements were XP Sp2. However, it has worked fine until the last few days so maybe they recently updated it and I downloaded the updated version recently?

This happened to me also, when viewing the new Apple iPhone ads on Apple's official site. And I found a solution. Apparently they released a security patch after 7.1.6. They could've at least stated that you need this to view quicktime contents without crashing your Firefox.

Simply download the patch and problem solved!
