Default Proxy

Hi,

I've added a proxy on my internet explorer, however when I try to view a web page, it takes AGES for it to load. If it does even load that is, most of the time I just get an error message "Unable to view web page". I did check the IP though, and the proxy is working, even though it did take about 5 minutes just to load [url=http://www.whatismyip.com]website, which it didn't even load correctly.

I just want to know if:

- certain proxies are faster than others. I would presume that the answer to this is yes, but I just want to know.

- the type of proxy can either mean browsing will be faster/slower. For example, an "anonymous" proxy compared to an "elite" / "highly anonymous" / "Transparent"

Finally, I am running behind a router. Would this make it slower? Can I open ports to make it faster?

Appreciate any help,
Thanks

Default Re: Proxy

Yes certain proxys are faster than others, depending on user amouts servers types/numbers etc

Nope, since a proxy is remote that wont make any difference
