Default my BB connection drops after a while?

Hi All, can any one lend me advice in regard of my broadband connection, it tends to drop after a little while, usually after a half hour of so, sometimes maybe an hour or more. Anyway, i've posted a HJT logfile for others to chech and its come back clean (as I thought) and I've set my comps performance to favour processes rather than progs (or isd that the other way round, either way it has'nt changed my prob in any way). This occurs with both ie and ff. I've run at least three spyware progs and three virus checks to try and solve prob, alas no joy. Any sugestions folks, many thanks in advance. Knick.

Sounds more like a modem/router problem. Any particular reason you think it may be something else?

no, not really. As i've had no probs with them in the past I just assumed that it was a a spyware/virus thing. I'm using a copperjet adsl modem connecting to freeserve. I've reinstalled and no change. Any ideas as to a course of action?

PS no response when i try to ping something, but the computer gives no indication that my connection has dropped. I've tried repairing the connection and nothing. I have to restart to get the connection back.

I'm not familiar with your setup (modem, ISP, or adsl).

Have you tried resetting your modem? Have you tried a firmware update? Have you contacted your ISP and/or your modem's tech support? These should be your first steps, since your system is coming up clean.

Have you tried accessing via a different router? , Maby if you've got one onboard try it through that , however using freeserve (wanadoo is it now?) in my experience the cust support is pretty ****

Yeah, support sucks but while its so awkward waiting to change provider (in uk that is)Ill have to sit tight. Will try the router thing and get back to you. The firmware thing is not really working out, as the support from copperjet is a bit weak.
