Default Launching .exe files

I need to find a way to launch .exe files, i designing an intranet portal but the client wants to know if he can launch .exe files from it and i am unsure how to. The website is being designed in Adobe Dreamweaver CS3 with the html format.

also does anyone know how to display .pdf files on a webpage? no downloading just have it pre dispalyed like an image

no i want to display it on the webpage no links for the pdf anywas, and for the exe i want it to launch, though IE just downloads the file instead of launching a program

Oh I get what you meen! When you create a link it will automatically be turned into a download link by there browser. Place it as a hyperlink and when someone clicks it, they will be asked wether they want to save or run the EXE file. Simple!!

Forced download can be done with a PHP script, (Google), as for auto display of PDF simply direct linking will do what the user has set to default.
