Default Importing and Exporting Favorites

had a email that I wanted in my favorites so I put it on my desktop as a shortcut and dragged it into my favorites but it won,t export on to my DVD?

Because you didnt EXPORT the mail. You just created a shortcut to the mail. The shortcut leads to the actual email. Copy and paste the email to a document, or export it from the email program. Just dragging and dropping will get you no where.
