Default How can I tell a business they were reffered from my site?

Hi there I have a question,

I have a list of many businesses on my website, all using different web server systems, be they php pages, asp, linux/windows servers etc and all coded differently. What I want to do is find out if there is a standard way of telling them all that their customer/pageviewer came from MY site. Is there a way to do this?

Or is the only way for them to know is if they have site statistics software setup and then they can detect who reffered them? I'm pretty sure Ive seen sites put in refferer IDs when you click them, they put there name in the URL so the site knows where it came from.. is there a standard way of doing this somehow?

Thanks!

Dave

Why would you want to do this? Most businesses wont care, and if they do... they wont give compensation.

There is no standard way of doing this. The sites that are referred by you would have to code this into their sites pages saying that they came from your site. The only way you could do anything is by having them have a small link or a image from your site somewhere on their page. Make that a requisite of your referral service.

But dont expect to many people to jump to that opportunity. AS they can get Google referrals without having to paot any links.
