At school all the computers use IE6, how ever recently I have found a way to install programs onto them (You can't run .exe files but if you put the installer exe file inside a zip file then run it, then make a shortcut to c:\ in my documents, then on the install browse to the c:\ drive via the shortcut and install it). IE6 sucks, so I installed Google Chrome and it works great

How ever I was wondering about firefox. Today I installed it but it wouldn't connect to the internet (page cannot be displayed error). On chrome a box came up asking me for my school login & password to connect to the internet and it worked, is there an option to enter this in firefox anywhere, because I can't find it.

I would ask the school admin if they would install Firefox for the students to use. No reason to get your computer privileges revoked when you can just ask permission.
