| Hacking Firefox via Add-Ons Hacking Firefox via Add-Ons
If you are a Firefox user, and I know a whole bunch of you are, you’d better read this.
According to Chris Soghoian, the Indiana University doctoral candidate who discovered the weakness, the vulnerability exists for some of the most popular Firefox add-ons, including Google Toolbar, Google Browser Sync, Yahoo Toolbar, Del.icio.us, Facebook Toolbar, AOL Toolbar, Ask.com Toolbar, LinkedIn Browser Toolbar, Netcraft Anti-Phishing Toolbar, PhishTank SiteChecker and a number of others, mainly commercial extensions. Ironically, at least two of the toolbars listed here are designed to help protect users from new security threats. A New Vector For Hackers -- Firefox Add-Ons - Security Fix |

| Re: Hacking Firefox via Add-Ons Yeah, I don't have any of them... not that it matters. I installed the 2.0.0.4 and lost the use of all of my extensions. I will probably have to uninstall them and reinstall them, but Nightly Tester Tools doesn't want to reinstall. |

| Re: Hacking Firefox via Add-Ons Nah, it would still blow IE outa the water.
I fixed my problem... I had to delete the Mozilla folder in Application Data and reinstall my extensions. I moved my bookmarks file and cookies first, though... didn't want to lose them. |

| Re: Hacking Firefox via Add-Ons It wasn't the upgrade itself... a line of code got corrupted in the process. It happens. Nothing that couldn't be fixed. Reinstalling was easier than try to wade through it all to find the error. |
