hey i have another invite to Goem (great private dvd-rip quality movie and tv show site) if anyone wants it... i prefer to trade for invites to other sites or anything else you might have to interest me... or if you just make a really good case for why you deserve it...

or krazyq, i think i said you had first dibs... you want it still? (ill PM you just in case :])

and ill also prolly be giving out some more invites to other good private torrent trackers (Goem.org, Demonoid, Waffles.fm, Seedmore, etc.) right here in this thread, so... check back every once in a while :] - RK

Doesn't this pertain to the downloading of things illegally? I believe that this thread is against this forums rules.

(my thread was deleted and I recieved marks for talking about "UseNeXT")

A membership in a tracker site itself is not illegal, as I am a member in a few. These sites also have forums and discussion boards. UseNeXT is purely a DL service, and an illegal one.

In the post you are referring to, you received an infraction for discussing pirated software, not UseNeXT itself.

This discussion thus far has been within the rules of the forum.

Torrents aren't illegal. It's just a file type.

Torrents are used for Downloading Linux builds. How is downloading Linux illegal? Torrents themselves are not illegal. Even membership to these sites is not illegal. Nothing is illegal until you fully download the file and use it.

There's a lot of public domain stuff available vie BitTorrent as well.

The illegality is in what is downloaded, not the fact that you can, just as mak said. I actually did a research paper on this and other topics of this ilk, and found out a lot about legal things that can be done with torrents.

Yes Linux is just one option. There are movie sites you can subscribe to that use torrents for download for a purchased movie along with many other things along this line.

It is just everybody thinks of the illegal stuff when it comes to Torrents.

most of you are pretty correct... its not illegal, but it can be... to sum it up...
its totally up to you what you DL with it, but the sites, the .torrent files, and discussing it here is NOT illegal... SO:

makavelli, ill just give you that invite if you want... no need to trade since you tried to give me an invite earlier and i appreciate that... PM me your email and ill send it later today...

still got one more up for grabs to Goem, if anyone wants it, tho!
