| Only on XP. If you dont use XFire at the same time. XFire is blocked and log you off. But i have used torrents without it for so long and never even heard a whisper from anyone. So while i can say yes it serves a purpose. I personally dont think it is necessary if used with Private Sites. But if you use Demonoid heavily then i would suggest using it for the reason that Demonoid torrents can be found all over the web and easily picked up by some unsavory institutes. |

| I have recently been invited to scenetorrents.org I've been a member of a handful of different torrent sites and I have to say, scenetorrents is the absolute best I've come across. Very nice community there and there are pretty much always seeders even on very old shows. New shows are uploaded pretty much instantly, and there's a lot of HD content, which is a big plus for me since I like high quality stuff. I even grabbed a few blu-ray rips! There are always so many seeders that I max out my bandwidth and download around 1.6-1.7mb/sec! Unfortunately invites seem to be issued very rarely....they can be purchased but they are very expensive :/ 20 euro for 1 invite. So, if you happen to come across anyone with a spare invite to scenetorrents snatch it up, because they are rare little gems of goodness!

| The Executioner | Content is important, you have to be careful what you say and exactly how you say it.

| The Executioner | Right, we can talk about torrenting, but as soon as the talk turns to anything about the content of a torrent being illegal, then you get canned. You can tell someone to "aquire" something by saying mr torrence..

Now does that answer your question as to why you were given the infraction???? Torrents themselves are not illegal. Nor is using these sites. I have gotten quite a bit of stuff legally over torrents. Ubuntu is best from torrents so you know you got the whole CD. | |

| Torrents are legal cause they are only a file type. Demonoid got shut down cause it was allowing the downloads of illegal things. Torrenting has always been legal. Go to BitTorrent.com and you will be allowed to buy and download movies with full authority from the MPAA. Along with songs with RIAA approval. Torrents themselves are not illegal. The stuff that the torrents give you could be. Torrents are used to distribute Linux distros which are free of charge. How would that be illegal to distribute? IT is only when you have movies that hjust hit theaters up for download via torrents does it start to become illegal. There are just as many leagl purposes to use Torrents as there are illegal. It is just that people only know of the illegal kind over the legal kind. |
