1st. check your internet settings, if you don't use dial up make sure that they are set to never dial a connection

2nd, what type of dialup software is this? a program name, connection it's trying to establish, a file name...
i need more to go on please.

thanks,
~KB

If its NetZero, it constantly downloads the ads and will automatically disconnect you after 3 hours.

There is a thread over on another forum dealing with a dialer called National one telecom The thread is fairly long but in it is the answer you seek. Go read it. Liz

Are you running a firewall? Way back when, I was nailed by online dialers that were downloading themselves onto my computer, disconnecting me, and trying to reconnect with God-knows-where.

Get a firewall (ZoneAlarm is free...check Download.com). Run AdAware and Spybot (both free...Download.com).

Set your firewall to start with Windows, so you don't forget it. Start-->Run-->MSCONFIG, startup tab...uncheck everything you do not absolutely need, make sure your firewall is checked.
