Google Plans to Launch Web Browser
According to the Washington Post, Google plans on launching a web browser in the near future. Personally, I don’t know why Google would want to make its own browser, especially considering all the cash the company gives Mozilla every year. It just seems like it would hurt Firefox big time to lose that money and have to compete with Google all at the same time. Google Inc plans to launch a web browser called Google Chrome in a challenge to Microsoft Corp's Internet Explorer, the Wall Street Journal reported on its website on Monday. The browser launch is likely to be announced soon, the paper said, citing unnamed sources. Google did not immediately respond to calls and emails seeking comment.

they will be able to make so much money from licensing the use of tool bar's on their browser it will be insane.

Using it now as well. Very quick, with some nice features, although it looks strange with the tabs above the address bar.

I just read an extensive review on Chrome. Seems like a pretty solid browser. I haven't tried it yet however. I also read about some of the features of IE8 and it seems like it will be king of the hill or close to it. InPrivate seems like a perfect feature for those who like anonymous browsing. Should be a very competitive market between Chrome, IE8 and FF3.

I think all it needs is zoom feature like ff3 then its pretty good. It seems kind of like it's using the ff2 engine. does anyone know for sure what browser engine it uses??

It seems good and fast. Now if they would add extensions to it... I feel naked using it, as I miss all my other functionality. | |
