you must have bittorent installed and configure your port forwarding on router if you use a router. a bittorent file is simply a shortcut to download the actual file. that is why it is a very small file. when the program is installed it will take over all extensions so if you click on it the program will load and start the download.

huh? what filetype are you talking about? bittorent will download all files to your default download folder. all temporary files are place in the temp folder. you can also set these within the program. there is no mystery involved.

What about when downloading from mIRC. How do you extract those files. I know you have to use a program called tar98 but thats about it.

once again it is all about what "file type" you are talking about. not all file types can be decompressed with the same program. example: .ACE extensions and .RAR extensions can be extracted using winRAR or winACE. you are not giving me any specifics on your problem, you are just asking a general question about extracting.
