Okay, I have AIM 6. I also have a . . .windows XP? But anyways normally it works fine when I sign on. Actually it tries to sign me on as soon as I log on, but it fails, but then all you have to do is wait a minute and then sign on and it works.
But yesterday it wouldn't let me on, unless I disabled Norton Internet Security. And today it won't let me on at all!

It says in red:
Invalid AIM server address
Whatever that means.
When I click AutoConfigure, it says it's unable to connect.]
When I try the AIM Express Service, that doesn't work either even when I disable the pop-ups on Firefox.

Pleasew help. Keep in mind I don't know much about technology, so please keep it simple for me.

Also, is it pronounced "aim", like game, or do you have to say each letter?

I say "aim" so there ya go.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it? Or, if you would rather, have you tried using Pidgin or Trillian? Both are multi-client IM programs (including AIM)?

Are you sure their servers are not down? Have you got the latest version of their software? Have you tried to conenct with Digsby, Trillian, or Pidgin?

And I think that theproblem is with me and not their servers.
I want to try resetting or connecting with these Trillian, digsby and pigin things last.
Are you sure I shouldn't try changing the port number or connect with a proxy or something?

Hello,

You can try to check to make sure your ports are forwarded and such. But proxy would be my 2nd last resort.

Also check to make sure that AIM is allowed thru the firewall.

Hi. Thanks for your help. I fixed it by uninstalling AIM and reinstalling the newest version. And I dont know what port forwarded is, but thanks anyway.
