Set Up Web Server

i need some info on setting up my own webserver, does any one know where i can get info on this, im a noob at this, so basics are needed.

Well.. First thing that we need to know to get you pointed in the right direction is, do you have any idea what software you want to use, and if so, what are they?

If you don't have any idea what you want to use, then what operating systems are you comfortable with? That will be the best place to start..
