Publically Acessible FTP

I have forgotten the FTP username and password for an old website and need to get all the idata off off it, this data being a couple of 1000 photos.

All the information I need is publically acessible and I need to download a the whole directory at once without going through every file as that would take literally years.

Is there FTP software which will let me download a publically acessible web directory without usernames and passwords ect.

You can try to contact the FTP server administration and explain your situation. There are programs that download the entire site to your disk, can't remember the name though, google it.

Have you addressed your host with this problem?

it only depends, if and only if, anonymous FTP is allowed on that FTP site.

i think WS_FTP runs a version that is free as well, else you will be able to find plenty of the FREE FTP software around, but, once again, if you had been accessing the folder with user name and p/w before, then don't expect it to be public.
