Popular BitTorrent Sites Unavailable in China, DNS Blamed

BitTorrent users in China were unable to reach popular sites such as Mininova or The Pirate Bay for a couple of days, instead being redirected to a Chinese search engine. The sites are reachable now and the outage was blamed on a DNS error, which isn’t widely believed since the issue only affected certain P2P sites.

Mininova co-founder Niek, whose domain was also redirected to Baidu told TorrentFreak: “We had the questionable honor of joining Wikipedia and YouTube on the list of websites that (at some point) were censored in China.”

China has built a great wall, thus many sites are unavailiable from them. Even Wikipedia is banned from China as I know.

I wouldn't say "great"...badly censoring, yes... Although that's why there's things like Tor network that's around.
