But that is the easiest answer to give. There are so many guides and that already out there. The OP just has to find the right one for them.

There's a guide I wrote earlier this year, using all free software (Ubuntu Linux as the OS, Apache2 as the HTTP server, GProFTPD for FTP, Remote Desktop for VNC sharing, and you can host other stuff too, including game servers).

I only say that cause of my MVP Mate. I use a Linux server and i triple boot with Linux. I am not all for M$ and nothing else.
