| are all the DNs out there must register from those domain regiter sites like domain.com? but how domain.com got it's own domain? do they have something huge network back bone that does it? so is that to have a domain must register from this sites but you can't create one yourself if you have your own server? even sites like google have to register in those sites, and can't have one that are published and/or registered at their own machine? how are this protocol work. and in where(what web or books)can i findout about it? please excuse my ignorance, i am new to this stuff, and wanted very much to know about it. ![]() |

| Hello, You are asking 2 different questions, although related. For registering a domain name, you can register a domain name at many places on the web. (These registrars are managed by ICANN organization... take a look http://www.icann.org/registrars/accredited-list.html ) now, about protocol...
