Default yahoo messenger wont connect

Hi
My yahoo messenger does not connect for the last two days. is there any way i can find out why it is not connecting?

Maybe it is being blocked by your firewall. If not... try uninstalling and reinstalling, perhaps its just corrupted.

is there any way (by pinging or some black art) that i can know if my packets are going through

you can find a tool that will do what you're looking for here...

http://www.netmon.org/tools.htm

try using the web version (IM client) to see if its your account or application that's hosted.

try using a different/older version

have you tried to perform a system restore prior to the past two days?

double click on the network adapters icon under network connections.. this will also display the number of packets receieved & transmitted in real time.

(try watching the two little computers on the network connection. one of the computers blink when packets are transmitted & the other blinks when packets are received.)

my yahoo IM was messing up yesterday...(or today)???

anyway... I just rebooted, etc.... it fixed itself ...
