Link farms are frowned upon by search engines. You should avoid them for your own good. Just my two cents...

if your trying to post your link in link farm sites.. better to consider the number of the links in that site...

I don't think it's worth to use linking farms for any Search Engine Optimization results, as the results may be opposite, once a link farm get's penalized by google.

I just want to add, sometimes you put a link to a good directory, but gradually it becomes worse and worse and gets penalised, you may suffer even without knowing about it.
