Default website making issues. .dosent seem too complicated ... ASAP

ok , i made my web page as a table and got a page done. now i made the body an editable region so i can make it a template. saved it as a template (BTW THIS IS ALL Dreamweaver8) then i made all the other pages . Now , i showed it to somebody they sugested that i make the buttons smaller easy right? i go into the template, remade the buttons, saved them as the same name, resized them and saved, Did i want to update the pages based on this file, Chyeah i did, so i did , then go to my root folder of the site and it says do you want to update the pages that use this template, i said yes again , and it said error instance in editable region now i open the html file and it gave me 2 headers and 2 nav bars. so i dont know what to do now?!?!? any ideas? i tried this over 4 different times with a slew of yes -no combos and it does it evvveeerrryyy time! ahhhhhhh!

just make the new design with the smaller buttons, delete the old template and then make a new template with the changes you made. For some reason dreamweaver is retarded and wont let you make changes once you have a template.

the reasoning behind a template is to make it so that when you have the design you want, you can then create pages based on it. I don't know why, but Dreamweaver just doesn't like it when you want to edit the template. You will save yourself a lot of time if you just delete the old template and recreate the new one.

Or just move on to a CMS,
You can convert your existing template to a CMS template for sure.
