Default vivicam 3340

I got a vivicam 3340 for christmass and so far am unable to get the pictures on to my computer. The usb set up for it says it is an unknown device and will not allow me to detect the camera with microsoft picture it or the arcsoft picture tool that came with the camera. It supposedly can be accessed as a mass storage device and would appear as a removable drive but this also doesn't happen. I thought the driver disk might be damaged and I downloaded the drivers from vivitar's web site this didn't help. I am running win 98se I have a k7s5a pro motherboard and a 2.4ghz xp processor I am using an ati radeon 7200 video card. I do have something I need to mention. My computer insists that there is 2 sets of usb. one via tech and one sis it has 2 instances of each in the device manager and 4 instances of usb root hub as well as usb 2. Can anyone help me fix the problem and get my camera to connect to my comp?
