Transparent flash in absolute div stops links from working

I am working on a site for a client.

If you look at Team you will see that at the bottom right hand corner of the design is a button called Ministries Launchpad. If you click on it, it loads up a cool flash animation.

When the flash button has not been clicked, it has a transparent background so you can see the design underneath.

However, if you try click a link that is below the flash object (the flash is in an absolute div BTW), they do not work because the flash object is on top of them.

Is there anyway to make those links click able when the flash has not been clicked?

The size of the button is larger than needed. You need to shrink down the size of the button clicked in order to get those links clickable again.

From what i see it works just fine in Opera 9.27

Thanks for that. The thing is, the client doesn't want the button the be shrunk.

He actually also wanted the button centered but we had to move it to the right...

Ideally we would like to put it back in the center of the the screen so if I can figure out how to get it working, that would be much more preferred than making it smaller...

So why not put the text links around it. Put half of them on the left and half on the right? That way you could center the button and still have all the links working.

Basically tell them that what they want wont happen right. So either they will have to compromise or the site will not work correctly.

Well You could also set the layer's value (div) to 1 and the texts value to 2, so that the text would be above flash.
