Default Text Effects In Photoshop

the other day, somebody brought to my attention that new users might have trouble with text effects...

first you have to make some text...

next you right click on that layer and select blending options

then just mess around with those settings
(drop shadow, bevel, glow, etc...)

hope this helps someone...

Cooool! I'm off to mess about with text effects!

PS: Haven't checked my PMs for ages!

EDIT: Dammit, I rasterized all the text layers! Am I gonna have to start again?

Sorry if I'm being dumb, but what do you mean by a stroke?

This is a great forum for PS tips. Also, for anybody who hasn't done this yet, I suggest trying to do an outer glow to the text opposite of the shade. For example, if you have your text as a dark color, try to do an outer glow in a light color, or vice versa. It makes it really stand out.
