Cool Software suggestions

Can anyone give me some suggestions on a program thay will allow me to, for example, take a photo I downloaded like a pic of Jessica Alba on the red carpet at the premiere of "The Fantastic Four", and take a photo of myself in a nice suit, and put my photo in her photo to make it like like I was there with her? Do you see what I'm trying to do?

I need a program that will let me do this, in the $50 to $150 range.

Thanks.

Where to begin?

1. Adobe Photoshop
2. Macromedia Fireworks
3. Paint Shop Pro

The list goes on, but its just up to preference and budget.

Photoshop is generally nowhere near the $50-150 range, but if you're a student at an accredited school- and it's worth signing up at a community college if you're not- you can get great academic discounts on software. Just search "academic discount software". You can get Paint Shop Pro for $55 and Photoshop less than half price.
