1.is it possible to get a camera's jpeg dump?
2. is it possible to interface a camera to a PIC microcontroller?

i'm an electronics and communications engineering student, and i'm working on a project wherein i need to take an image from a camera and process it directly on the PIC microcontroller. It's supposed to take a picture of a printed circuit board and save the coordinates of the holes that need to be drilled. i know a big part of my post is a little off topic but i hope someone can help me with my problem. thanks in advance!
