Default Layout Question

My friend and I have come up with a layout in Photoshop. It's been sliced with ImageReady, and I've got it up and running. But, I want to add text ON TOP of the images. How do I go about doing that? This is the first time I've ever designed the entire layout in Photoshop and not for sure what needs to be done.

Also, when I try to edit the simple HTML to create a rollover image (MouseON and MouseOFF javascript), it seems to misplace the image, and throw the rest of them off, as well.

Any help would be deeply and greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

As in text over the image do you mean content or just like a logo? If it is a logo you can edit the individual image in Photoshop, and to not screw the design I would use ImageReady to do the rollovers.

Set the pic as backgrounds instead of just pics, and you will be able to type on them.

Ahh, that makes sense. So, do I make the entire image (with no slices) as the background, or should I put the slices down, too?

No one wouldn't happen to know where I can find coding for text stuff, would ya?

You could use the entire pic, but it would be extremely difficult to lign everything up.

Use tables with cells, and set the sliced pics as background instead of inserting them as a pic.

I may want to mention that last time I checked other browsers were having trouble with table backgrounds and did not view them properly or at all. That was about a year ago so you may want to look into it to see if those problems have been changed. I know netscape wasn't capable of it. For maximum compatibility use CSS, since you are a beginner maybe you should take a break from your project and read an HTML book and then a CSS book so you are certain to get it right. Understanding web design can help you create some awesome sites, just an idea. Good luck.
