How to use GIMP?

I have downloaded Gimp 2.2, all of it. I like the look of it, in that it is sleek and smooth, but I have a problem...

I HAVE NO FRIGGIN' IDEA HOW TO DO ANYTHING ON IT!!!

Anybody have any tips/help/advice? The tutorials on GIMP.org have not been helpful at all.
