| hosting you own website Out of interrest how would you host your own website. i know you would need a server but if you made one and hooked it up to the web n brought a domain name, what application would you need?

| Re: hosting you own website you can either use Apache or microsoft's IIS to host from your comuter.
Apache is more powerful but IIS is more straightforward.
I have successfully hosted a website from my WAN address using apache

You can upload custom pages but you won't get the .com domain though. You can register for some free domain redirect though.

| Re: hosting you own website If you know how to use ftp, and html. I recommend using Freehostia to host it, simple to use and gives good amount of space.
