Default CMS vs. Bloggers: Trying to comprehend

Hi everyone,

I began reading about the various options in Fantastico for bloggers (b2evolution, Nucleus, WordPress) and I noticed that out in the world, these are sometimes referenced as CMS tools. Previously, my conception of CMS has included Joomla! and the like, but not these. Would someone be willing to describe the similarities and differences between the two categories, or between the two groups of applications?

Thanks,
Elchanan

Hello,

They are all considered to be content managements systems.

Thanks. But then, why, in Fantastico or the like, are they listed in distinct categories (bloggers vs. CMS)? How are they fundamentally different ... if at all?

Thanks,
Elchanan

I don't have much experience with "bloggers", but I would assume they would be more focused on blogs. A CMS is generally a total site package (several different pages, Forums, fully-featured admin areas, lots of more detail that I'm omitting...).

Hello,

It's just the way Fantastico have decided to categorise.
